A Wyandotte Community Theatre production, "One Toe in the Grave," promises to have audiences in stitches at 7:30 p.m. today at the Wilson Middle School auditorium, 1275 15th St., Wyandotte.

It's the 1980s and Jason Kingsley is treasurer of a billion-dollar patent medicine corporation that requires its officers to be married.

Kingsley claims his wife has a rare disease that prevents her from appearing in public, but is forced to produce a spouse when the company accidentally discovers a cure.

The cast members are Ray Gosselin as Jason Kingsley, Katie Mara as Nicki Chaning, Cheryl Wojtylko as Naomi Schuyler, Harvey LaFramboise as Thornton Murdock, Alex Garrison as Douglas Proctor, Emily Flesch as Poopsie Magruder and Jennifer Piner as Vonga the Jungle Girl.

Tickets are $11 for adults, $10 for students and senior citizens and $8 for children 8 and younger.

"Crazy For You," featuring the music of George and Ira Gershwin, takes the stage at 7 p.m. today and tomorrow at Trenton High School, 2601 Charlton.

The show features a 50-member cast and an orchestra of 24 Trenton High School band students.

The Downriver Youth Performing Arts Center will present the classic musical "Singin' in the Rain" at 7:30 p.m. today and tomorrow at the Trenton Village Theatre.

The ongoing problem of school violence is the subject of DYPAC's "Bang, Bang You're Dead," on stage at 7:30 p.m. May 2, 3, 9 and 10 at the Trenton Village Theatre, 2447 W. Jefferson.

The intense story follows a troubled student and the resulting violence at his school.

Admission is free for the production and includes a postperformance discussion. Due to the subject matter, it's requested that a parent accompany children younger than age 13.

Tickets are on sale now for Southgate Community Players' production of "Beauty and the Beast," which takes the stage May 2, 3, 8, 9 and 10 at Davidson Middle School, 15800 Trenton Road, Southgate.

The tale of 1930s burlesque queen Gypsy Rose Lee comes to life in "Gypsy" at 7 p.m. Thursday, next Friday and April 19 and at 2 p.m. April 20 at the River Raisin Centre for the Arts, 114 S. Monroe St., Monroe.

The production includes showstopping Broadway numbers such as "Let Me Entertain You" and "Everything's Coming Up Roses."
